Rosso Fosco Lambrusco Grasparossa Sparkling Red Wine Medium Sweet
A beautiful sparkling red wine from Modena, Northern Italy. This red Lambrusco wine has a deep purple/red colour with aromas of dark cherries and red berries. Full of fruits on the palate with a great acidity/sweetness balance, which doesn't taste too sweet despite the higher sugar level.
Specially selected by Just Perfect Wines as it is a surprisingly delicious wine. Although it's classed as a "sweet wine", it doesn't come across as overly sweet . This is because the wine has some tannins which the sugar balances really well with. This balance reduces the perception of the sweetness and the tannins. This effect gives body and structure to the wine, which gives the sensation of a higher alcohol wine vs the moderately low 8%. This is more noticeable if the wine is not over chilled.
Lambrusco is pretty temperature sensitive in our opinion. Too cold and it tastes quite light and looses some of its nuances. Too warm and it becomes too acidic and elevates the tannins. This wine is a little more forgiving than others, so straight out of the fridge should be fine, although after 5 minutes would be better in our opinion - but as taste is subjective, that pleasure is up to you to discover what is just perfect for you.
